My Senior Picture
For my senior picture, I included many symbols of who I want to be. I chose this setting, called "x-ray" for a couple of reasons. When people see me now, and especially in four years, I don't want them to look at me and just see the outside. Instead of focusing on the internal details, I hope that they see me for my personality and who I am, not what I look like. I thought this was the best way to show this since the picture setting still clearly shows me, but not how a regular picture would. Other uses of symbols was the microphone on the left side. Singing is a big part of my life, and I have always loved it. I hope to accomplish many things with this, such as hopefully being in Jacks-N-Jills, which I have been dreaming about ever since I came to Jackson. It also resembles my passion for music, which I love.Next, I have four bracelets sitting on top of a notebook. This means that when I'm a senior, I wish to graduate with a 4.0 GPA, along with filling all four years of high school with success and adventures. Beside the microphone is a pencil and notebook which resembles my love for writing. I would love to be a journalist or a writer of some sort as my career. I love writing poems, and writing lets me express all of my feelings. I would like to take writing classes in high school, and progress in that subject especially in the next four years when I graduate. Another symbol is my earrings. I am wearing cross earrings and even though they aren't visible I still want to live through my Christian religion. Not being able to see them relates to life because I want to live through Christianity, but not in a fake way where I would show everyone this and portray to be a great and perfect person, which I'm not. Imago dei; the image of God. Lastly, there is a decorative window in my picture background. This was not on purpose, but it made me think about what it could mean. I think of it as "a window opportunities." I want to take all the many opportunities that are offered that I'm interested in, knowing that when I'm a senior, I did everything I could and didn't hold back from anything, no matter what. In conclusion, this picture is what I hope to be when I'm a senior, if not more.
